This is a significant investment of over 20 million euros
Another decisive step for the construction of the Ermioni Marina is being taken with the submission of the amended environmental study. The project, which is being developed by Ermionis SA, under the financing of Nikos Th. Vardinoyannis’ family office Tethys and with the participation of EMMA Capital (25%), constitutes an investment of over 20 million euros.
Dynamic marina with 256 berths
According to the study, the marina will have 256 berths for boats up to 60 meters long, covering a total sea area of 96.3 acres. The new infrastructure is expected to upgrade the area’s capacity in the marine tourism sector, serving the increased demand for berthing in Argolida and the wider area of the Gulf of Hydra.
Investment plan and infrastructure
The marina’s land area, covering an area of 20.4 acres, will include:
– Building infrastructure with a total construction area of 2,335 sq m. for administration, commercial uses, catering and tourist accommodation.
– Green areas of at least 2,000 sq m.
– Infrastructure that will be fully accessible to people with disabilities.
– Upgraded parking spaces and organized facilities.
– The new study foresees small-scale modifications to the design, aiming to optimize the organization and operations of the marina.
Benefits for the local economy and the region
The Ermioni Marina is expected to become one of the most important maritime tourism hubs in the southeastern Peloponnese, strengthening the tourism product of the region. With the ability to accommodate larger vessels, upgrade infrastructure and improve the functionality of the land area, the project will contribute to:
– Promoting the local economy, by attracting high-income tourists.
– Sustainable development, with respect for the environment and the traditional character of Ermioni.
Environmentally sustainable development
The operation of the marina will be carried out with respect for the natural and cultural environment of the area. Its presence is expected to reduce uncontrolled boat docking during the summer season, ensuring organized and safe infrastructure. The Ermioni Marina is not only an investment in tourism, but also a growth lever that will further highlight Argolida as one of the top tourist destinations in Greece.
